Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones recalled from the market

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd is under a lot of heat, recently. The company launched its most awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones the previous month but ever since, it has been under massive problems. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have faulty batteries that make the phone explode.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones to be returned

Many users who had purchased the phone complained about Note 7 randomly exploding while charging or in normal use. The phones have a defective battery which is fire prone. In lieu of the exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones, many airlines and consumer commissions have banned the use of the phone. Airplanes have refrained users from charging or using their phones on board because of the threat of catching fire. The U.S consumer product safety commission has also prompted the stop of using Note 7 devices.

Samsung, the world’s top smart phone manufacturer, announced last week that it will exchange all Note 7 devices in 10 markets which include South Korea and the United States.

Koh Dong-jin, the head of Samsung’s business said that. “We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note 7s and exchange them as soon as possible.”

The company is urging the users to exchange their Galaxy Note 7 phones for a device which has safe battery. The replacement of the phone will be available in some markets including South Korea and United States from September 19. The company previously halted the production of Note 7 devices in Australia but is now to resume sales in October.

Reuters report that around 2.5 million of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 were sold around the globe and now have to be recalled, where some firms has estimated that, this could cost Samsung nearly $5 billion in lost revenue this year.

The launch of Samsung Note 7 before Apple was suppose to be a competition but turns out that things maybe, otherwise.
