Samsung, LG, HTC & Motorola claim that they don’t use older batteries like Apple

Researchers found out that Apple is deliberately slowing down older iPhones and models to force users to buy newer models. Apple admitted to this.

Now Apple’s biggest smartphone competitors, Samsung, LG, HTC & Motorola have come forward and claimed that unlike Apple they use new batteries in all their phones. So it seems clear that these smartphone makers want to seize this opportunity to enhance their own reputation in the smartphone market.

Apple has apologized and admitted that they use older batteries in few of the iPhones to prevent any unforeseen shutdown. As a compensation, Apple is offering new batteries to users who are facing this issue and are reducing the rates to $29 from $50. Moreover, they only replace batteries that are old and need any kind of replacement, not all of them.

Now coming to the competitors of Apple in smartphone market Samsung, Motorola, HTC, and LG, they claim that they never used any older batteries.

Samsung Electronics Co., LTD said, “Product quality has been and will always be Samsung Mobile’s top priority. We ensure the extended battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that govern the battery charging current and charging duration. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the lifecycles of the phone.”

LG Electronics, Inc said, “Never have, never will! We care what our customers think.”

HTC spokesperson said that designing such phones that slow down processor as the battery gets old “is not something we do.”

A Motorola spokesperson said, “We do not throttle CPU performance based on older batteries.”

Now as Apple is facing trouble it has decided to cut the prices of its latest flagships including iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. As per some reports, Apple is only considering slicing the iPhone X prices by the next year due to lower than expected demand for the phone.
