Samsung One UI 8.5 Leak Reveals Smarter Call Screening, Privacy Display and Fresh Design

Samsung is currently rolling out one Ui 8 worldwide to its Galaxy smartphones. But internally, the group is already working on the next version of its user interface. One UI 8.5 probably brings some exciting functions again.

One Ui 8.5 already in the

Samsung had started distributing one UI 8 to the first Galaxy devices in mid-September. Now the rollout is gradually expanded and the S24 series is already receiving the new user interface in some regions. While other Samsung users are still waiting for the update, the South Korean manufacturer is already working intensively on the next version of his mobile operating system. Leave Firmware files from One UI 8.5 already reveal some of the fresh functions that Samsung is planning for its smartphones.

Automatic adjustment according to the pixel model

One of the most interesting innovations is the automatic adjustment, which is strongly reminiscent of Google’s call screening function on pixel smartphones. So far, Galaxy users have to use Bixby manually for suspicious calls to ask callers for their concerns. Loud Android Authority If this function with One UI 8.5 is to be automatically activated for suspicious numbers. The system independently detects spam calls or calls to the first and indicates a live transcript of the conversation without having to intervene.

In addition, the AI assistant could automatically answer calls if the “do not disturb” mode is activated. Samsung would finally bring this function at eye level with Google’s proven call screening technology for years, which was already introduced with the Pixel 3 devices in 2018.

Privacy display

Samsung also develops a new “private display” function that makes it more difficult for people near the smartphone user to look on its screen. This technology limits the visibility from side angles, so that only the direct user can clearly recognize the screen content. The function is expected to offer various privacy levels, including a “maximum privacy” option for maximum protection.

It is particularly practical that the AI used can automatically recognize which app is used to adapt the protection accordingly. A higher protection level would be conceivable when using banking apps. In contrast to display films, Samsung wants to integrate functionality directly into the software.

Design changes in iOS style

One UI 8.5 also brings clear design revisions. The settings app is made more compact and tidy, with subtitles removed and the search bar is moved to the lower screen edge. There are new shadows for menu elements and course effects on the edge of the screen, which give the interface a more modern and layered look.

These changes are strongly reminiscent of Apple’s new iOS-26 design and show Samsung’s efforts for a more contemporary user interface. Since the introduction of One UI in 2018, Samsung has been increasingly based on modern design trends and has significantly removed from the Touchwiz surface, which was often often criticized earlier.

More practical innovations

The other planned functions include NFC-based Quick Share broadcasts, which should simplify the sharing of files between devices by simply holding together. The Samsung weather app also gets a pollen forecast for allergy sufferers, and a new AI shortcut in the Launcher should give quick answers to questions.

For users with photosensitive epilepsy, Samsung is also planning a protective function against flashing lights in videos. So far, Samsung has officially confirmed none of these new functions. However, there are evidence of this in the leaked code for the upcoming one-UI version. At the moment, however, it cannot be said exactly when the update will be available. After the delays in the one-UI rollouts of the recent past, users should be patient.
