Samsung presents new televisions for 2026

Samsung is starting 2026 with new TV models at CES. From 130-inch micro-RGB concepts to anti-reflective OLED televisions to AI functions: we summarize the technical innovations and display technologies in a compact manner.

Micro RGB as an evolution of mini LEDs

At the start of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Samsung is presenting its TV portfolio for the current year. In addition to maintaining the OLED division, the focus of the trade fair appearances is primarily on large-format displays that use a new technology level called “Micro RGB”.

The company is thus addressing both the upscale home theater segment and users who expect deep integration of artificial intelligence in their living room electronics. The most striking innovation concerns the nomenclature and construction of the top models. Samsung is expanding the range of the “Micro RGB” series, which is technically a further development of the established Mini-LED technology. However, with screen diagonals of up to 130 inches on flagships, some households require a lot of space.

A key technical aspect is the improved color representation and brightness control. This is realized by the “Micro RGB AI Engine Pro” processor, which uses artificial intelligence to analyze contrasts in real time and to adapt HDR content more precisely to the panel properties. As Samsung explained during the product presentation, the 130-inch device shown at the trade fair primarily functions as a technology carrier on its solid metal stand. The design is a conscious reference to the “Timeless Gallery” stand, which the company introduced in 2013. For the end customer market, Samsung is specifically planning the R95H series (available in 65 to 130 inches) and the R85H series (55 to 100 inches). The models support the HDR10+ Advanced standard and are equipped with a special glare-free coating to reduce reflections in bright environments.

OLED model update and gaming features

In addition to LCD-based large formats, developments in the OLED segment are important for many end users. The new flagship S95H continues to rely on QD-OLED panels, which, according to the specifications, achieve a higher peak brightness than the previous generation – we didn’t expect it otherwise.

A relevant change concerns the connection architecture: the model is marketed as “Wireless One Connect Ready”. The connections are located on the housing as standard, but can optionally be relocated to the external Wireless One Connect Box to minimize cabling to the panel away from the power supply. There are also adjustments in the middle class that are particularly interesting for PC gamers. The cheaper S90H series now also has the matte display surface, which was previously primarily reserved for the more expensive models. In this way, Samsung primarily improves the readability of dark image content in illuminated rooms.

Technically, the S90H supports refresh rates of up to 165 Hz. In combination with the Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), the model is increasingly positioning itself as a large-scale alternative to classic gaming monitors.

AI integration into Tizen and pricing

On the software side, Samsung is linking the Tizen operating system more closely to external AI services. In addition to the in-house assistant Bixby, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity will also be usable directly on the televisions in the future to process complex search queries or control commands. A new “AI Soccer Mode” is also intended to automatically recognize football broadcasts and optimize the image and audio tuning in three selectable intensity levels in order to simulate a stadium atmosphere in the living room.

Samsung has not yet announced specific prices for the 2026 line-up. In the coming weeks, however, utopian prices for large-screen micro-RGB TVs are expected to once again be expected, while average consumers can expect more affordable OLED and mini-LED televisions in the spring and summer of 2026.
