Samsung slips up about foldable Galaxy X

Samsung has let slip subtle details of its broadly reputed foldable cell phone, thought to be known as the Galaxy X. A support page for the Galaxy X has showed up on Samsung’s Korean site, proposing that the organization is gearing to uncover the new gadget.

Initially spotted by Dutch portable webpage Mobiel Kopen, the site page doesn’t offer any points of interest apart from the model number – SM-G888N0 – with the “N0” implying it will just go on sale in South Korea.

Be that as it may, with the organization anticipated that would disclose its Galaxy S9 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, many are anticipating that Samsung should offer a first look at the new Galaxy X in the same time period.  The news comes after Lets Go Digital revealed a progression of sketches put together by Samsung to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (IPO) under a similar model number a month ago.

Samsung is officially yet to confirm Galaxy X

The sketches recommend that the Galaxy X will have a flip-phone plan with two displays – one of which will be flexible- and a multi-joint hinge, like the one on Microsoft’s Surface Book.

Prior this year, Koh Dong-jin, leader of Samsung’s mobile business, indicated that the organization would release a cell phone with a bendable display in 2018.

“As the head of the business, I can say our current goal is next year,” he said during a media day for the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 in August. “When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product.”

However, he admitted at the time that there were several hurdles that needed to be overcome before the device could go into production. This isn’t the first run through Samsung has been supposed to deal with a foldable cell phone. A year ago, the organization recorded a patent for a cell phone with a flexible OLED screen.
