Samsung to Develop 600MP Camera Sensor
Samsung is one of the leading camera sensor developer and manufacturer. Samsung was the first company to launch 64MP and 108MP sensors for consumer smartphones.
The Head of Sensor Business Team at Samsung Yongin Park, in an editorial on the company’s website unveiled Samsung’s aim to launch a 600MP sensor in future. It will be able to deliver more detail than a human eye can see.
As per Park, our eyes are accustomed to match a resolution of around 500MP. His team aims to develop sensors that can outdo that. They will be used in different applications other than the smartphone world.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 can output 108 MP images. 600MP camera sensor launch on its own can be achieved, however it will be quite big and it won’t fit into a smartphone. Thus one way it can be done is by reducing the pixel size.
No deadline for the launch has been given by Mr. Park but looking at the recent developments, 600MP sensor might launch quite soon.
