Samsung will add the Instant Slow-mo feature to these older devices

Besides the impressive hardware of the Galaxy S24 series, the smartphones are known for their Galaxy AI features. The company introduced a number of useful software features based on artificial intelligence. One such feature is ‘Instant Slow-mo’. As the name indicates, the feature can convert any video into a slow-motion video.
According to some recent pieces of information, the company is now ready to roll out this feature to some of the previous versions of Galaxy phones and tablets. The company revealed the list of eligible devices for the Instant Slow-mo feature in an official community post. Reportedly, the feature will be rolled out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
The company claims that the tool will work with various types of videos. It can only play 8-bit videos with a resolution of 720p to 8K at the moment. Additionally, at this time, only the.mp4 file type is supported. However, it will soon support 480p resolution and the.mov suffix, in addition to 10-bit videos.
According to the company, the feature only works on devices that are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC or a newer flagship processor. It is now kind of clear that it won’t be available on even older smartphones and tablets. Possibly, the new feature will be available on the above-mentioned devices with the One UI 6.1 update. The business had previously stated that by the end of H1 2024, compatible devices will receive the most recent version of the One UI.
