Samsung will introduce a 77-inch OLED TV and a 49-inch OLED monitor in Q1 2023

Some exciting news is coming from a report by TheElec. As per this report, the tech company Samsung is planning to introduce two new products to its OLED portfolio. Reportedly, Samsung could introduce a 77-inch OLED TV and a 49-inch OLED monitor by Q1 2023. If this happens, the company will expand its OLED TV portfolio with 3 models and OLED monitor portfolio with 2 models as of this year.

Just a few weeks ago, during the CES2023 event, the South Korean tech company announced 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch QD-OLED TVs. Additionally, the tech firm also announced two QD-OLED gaming monitors i.e., 34-inch and 49-inch. The division of Samsung, Samsung Display is associated with the supply of QD-OLED panels for these products. Given this fact, the tech firm will brand these products under the category ‘Samsung OLED.’

Given this information, the new products by Samsung i.e., 77-inch OLED TV and 49-inch OLED monitor will utilize the same QD-OLED panels manufactured by Samsung Display. It is also reported that Samsung Display denied working on the development of 48-inch OLED panels for TVs. Instead, it offered to work on manufacturing a 49-inch panel.

It is because a single Gen 8.5 substrate permits the manufacturing of two 77-inch panels and two 48-inch panels. Or in the other case, the subsidiary could manufacture two 77-inch panels and two 49-inch panels from a single substrate. For this reason, the option of a 49-inch OLED monitor was more economical in contrast to a 48-inch panel.
