Samsung’s Galaxy F06 Outshines Premium Models with One UI 7 Out of the Box

Samsung hasn’t had the smoothest run with the One UI 7 update. The beta program was initially limited to the Galaxy S24 series, leaving other users waiting. Even after launching alongside the Galaxy S25 series, the stable One UI 7 update is still nowhere to be seen. Samsung has confirmed plans for one more beta version before rolling out the stable update to other Galaxy devices.

While flagship users still wait, Samsung’s new budget phone, the Galaxy F06, has already launched in India running Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. For Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Flip6 users, this might feel like a letdown. But there’s more to it than meets the eye.

The Galaxy F06 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and features a 6.74-inch HD+ display, a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP secondary lens, and an 8MP front-facing camera. It’s backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, all for just INR 9,999 (around $115) for the 4GB/128GB variant. This affordable price point comes with an impressive promise of four generations of OS updates and four years of security patches.

If the phone goes on sale soon, it will become the second Samsung device to ship with One UI 7 out of the box. However, there’s a twist—the Galaxy F06 comes with One UI 7 Core, a scaled-down version of One UI designed for budget phones. It lacks some premium features like Good Lock (Samsung’s UI customization tool) and Samsung Knox. That said, the Galaxy F06 does include Samsung Knox Vault for security, which is a solid addition at this price point.

Despite missing a few features, the Galaxy F06’s early access to One UI 7 is a win for budget-conscious buyers. It’s a significant achievement for a phone priced under $120, even outpacing some of Samsung’s premium models in software updates.
