A few confidential documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal revealed that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, alias MBS, has plans to establish a futuristic $500 billion megacity. It will be dubbed as the Neom project and it aims to reduce the Saudi Arab’s dependency on oil.
The city will be known as Neom. It is a combination of Greek word neos which means new and Arabic word mustaqbal that means future.

There are some interesting proposed features that would be part of the city. This includes flying taxis, cloud seeding tech that will produce artificial clouds and rainfall in the Saudi desert. Also, an artificial moon will be set up that will illuminate each evening.
Holographic teachers will teach in the classes and Jurassic Park-like island will be created that will be equipped with robotic dinosaurs for entertainment, robotic staged fights for amusement, robotic maids for house chores, clinics that are human gene-editing, glow-in-the-dark sand, and highly modern security system.
Neom Chief Executive Nadhmi al Nasr said, “Neom is all about things that are necessarily future-oriented and visionary. So we are talking about technology that is cutting edge and beyond — and in some cases still in development and may be theoretical.”
