Search is coming to Threads but it’s limited for now

Threads, a competitor to X, is getting a significant new feature. The new social media app now features a search feature, thanks to the corporation. However, the feature is currently minimal and simply allows you to check profiles. Posts cannot be found using certain words or phrases.

Early in July, Meta introduced Threads as a competitor to Twitter, which had just changed its name to X. When it first launched as an Instagram app, millions of people downloaded it. Instagram users flocked to the newest Meta product because Threads allows users to check in with their account credentials from that social media site. Just a few days after its release, the new software had more than 100 million users.

The charm of Threads, however, was swiftly lost, along with half of its user base. This failure was mostly brought on by the platform’s dearth of features. Basic functions like searching and reposting were missing. Meta stated that these features would be available by the beginning of last month. Reposting was introduced last week. Around the same time, Meta also released an online version of the platform. It is currently including a search feature as well.

Threads social media application from Meta now has a search feature

Get ready; search is coming to Threads, wrote Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a post on the social media website on Thursday. In the GIF that accompanied his tweet, Vin Diesel is heard stating, “I bet you’re going to enjoy this.” It is a snippet from the Fast and Furious movie series. It’s clear from the way Mark made his announcement that search functionality was something many Threads users wished for. Thank goodness it’s finally accessible.

On Threads’ bottom navigation bar, the search button is located right next to the home button. When you tap it, a search box appears at the top, followed by accounts you might wish to follow. Unfortunately, as previously said, you cannot currently search for posts. The search feature is limited to finding accounts. You may choose an account to view its page and posts or follow it directly from the search results.

Hopefully, Meta will soon improve the function and make it more like X’s search functionality. Using keywords, hashtags, and other search criteria, you may find accounts and posts on the latter platform. Search results may also be sorted using filters like Top, Latest, People, Media, and Lists. X also provides filtering based on geography and followers. You can download the most recent version of the application by clicking the button below while we wait for Meta to add this functionality to Threads.
