Hackers are selling stolen Flipkart data with same credentials as used on BigBasket – users are advised to changed their password asap.

Recently, there has been a possible hacking attack on Flipkart accounts that uses the grocery platform BigBasket. According to expert Rajashekhar Rajaharia, hackers are selling a database of email IDs and passwords linked with BigBasket. The expert suggested the Amazon is also under this threat. However, since Amazon uses an OTP to log in, these accounts are less exposed to this recent threat.
In a tweet, Rajaharia said:
He further highlighted:
These Flipkart and AmazonIN accounts are being sold on Telegram Groups. This is the only reason each company should inform their users to change their all of passwords immediately after data breach.
He suggested Flipkart should introduce the two-factor authentication for all accounts to avoid any breach. Flipkart responded with positive feedback and said the company always spread awareness among its users to follow best practices to keep their accounts safe and secure. However, Amazon and BigBasket have not responded to the situation, at least not to our knowledge.
