Google launched the third developer preview of Android Wear 2.0. Android Wear 2.0 is the next version of OS for smartwatches. The company announced that it will be delaying the launch of the update which was originally scheduled for this December. Google has not given an official date for the launch but it was to come in the next coming months. The company had been conducting alpha and beta testing of the update for about 30 weeks. Google is now improving the update by the suggestions of the development community. It now plans on improving the update for better user experience.
The update of Android Wear 2.0 will hit users in early 2017. Smartwacthes are a novelty for users and Google has a fierce competition with Apple.
What is good about the Android Wear update? Well for starters the update will allow users to install apps directly on their watches through Play Store. Developers can now make and publish the Android War 2.0 apps on Google Play and users can completely bypass their phones. Users in short do not have to connect to their phones. However, purchases for paid apps still need to be authentication from the user phone. They might get rid of it in the future versions.

The updates also include the smart reply feature and a new API that allows users to take actions on notifications right from the notification stream. These features are very similar to the notification handling in Android Nougat. The developer preview can be installed on the Huawei watch and LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, adding voice assistant. It includes better interface and control.
Google Allo and Hangouts are already using the smart reply feature and developers will be able to enable it in their apps.
