Snapchat paid users can now share AI-generated images

Snapchat is increasing the number of AI features on the platform. Recently, the company introduced a feature that enables users to generate AI images based on text prompts and share them. According to some recent pieces of information, the company is limiting the feature to only paid members. In simple words, non-paid users won’t be able to use this feature anymore.

With the recent development, the feature has been limited to members who have subscribed to the $3.99 per month plan. Only paid members will be able to generate AI images from text prompts. By tapping the AI button located in the toolbar on the right side of the camera interface, users can activate this feature. Users can submit basic text prompts on this screen, which also includes some first-text prompt examples. Before sharing the created photographs, users have the option to add text and draw on them.

In addition to this, Snapchat is adding other AI features as well. Users can now change the position of subjects in an image, i.e., move them closer or further away, by filling in the background. To test this feature, capture a close-up picture, crop it, and then click on the ‘Extend’ button.

Furthermore, there is another way to use the AI-powered selfie filter, Dreams which converts images in accordance with particular themes. A free box of eight Dreams is given away to Snapchat Plus subscribers each month. Earlier this year, Snapchat introduced a number of AI capabilities, including an AI chatbot that is available to all users.
