Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor For Galaxy S23 Might Appear In November
Qualcomm finally announced the dates for its next Snapdragon Technology Summit. The annual event will take place from November 14-17. Although the exact location of this year’s event has not been announced, it is expected that it will be held in Hawaii.
Qualcomm could announce its next-generation flagship mobile chipset at its annual tech conference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ will use this chipset. Rumors suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Generation 2 will still use TSMC’s 4nm process. This is similar to the Snapdragon8+ Gen 1. Overheating and throttling should not be an issue.
The upcoming Snapdragon chipset-equipped phones, including the Xiaomi 13 series of smartphones, are expected to be launched in December 2022.
Specifications for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
According to previous leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will have an unusual 1+2+2+3 cluster of CPU cores. One Cortex X3 CPU core, two Cortex A720 CPU cores, and three Cortex A510 CPU cores could be included. The Adreno 740 GPU could be included. We can expect a built-in 5G modem that offers the fastest download speeds and upload speeds, as well as other wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
It is rumored Samsung’s Systems LSI division is creating the Exynos 2300 chipset. However, the smartphone business may not use it in its Galaxy S23 series. For the next two years, the smartphone maker could only use Snapdragon processors. According to reports, it has assembled a team of approximately 1,000 engineers in order to create a custom chipset that will be compatible with high-end Galaxy phones. It could launch in 2025.
