Social Media Including Facebook Twitter Being Blocked in Pakistan Due to Crackdown in Faizabad

After the Private News Channels are suspended from on-airing any transmission or whatsoever during the on-going security operation on the Faizabad protestors, the government of Pakistan seems to have directed the ISPs to block Twitter and Facebook in Pakistan as per the reports of many news channels including ARY.

There are no confirmations yet relating the news but many users in Pakistan are claiming that they are unable to access Facebook and other social media websites.

It is worth mentioning that the government’s strict decision of operation against the Faizabad protestors has backfired and protests have erupted throughout the nation. The government launched the operation because of the never-ending protests going on across the province Punjab and other cities of Pakistan.

Faizabad sit-in was causing a chaotic situation in the capital city. The general public was facing difficulties in carrying out their routine activities. Severe traffic jams, closed schools, suffering businesses all were the cons of this protest.

Presently, Twitter, Facebook, and some other social websites are inaccessible on the significant ISPs in Pakistan.  As per the analysts, this blockage might be a try to restrict the sympathizers of the two religious groups from delivering provocative speeches via the social media.

Right now, the government is conducting a crackdown operation at Faizabad which has made the transportation between the twin cities almost impossible.
