Soon, Epic Games store will be available on iOS and Android
When it comes to app, most of the smartphone users are familiar with the App Store and Google Play Store. However, not all apps are available on smartphones. The huge commission that can be as much as 30% is the main reason behind this. Well, things are now changing in Europe due to the new EU regulations. Finally, the Epic Games Store is making its debut on iOS and Android.
Rumors of a mobile Epic Games Store began to circulate after the European Union mandated Apple to allow alternative stores in Europe. Well, it is now officially confirmed. Steve Allison, the General Manager of Epic Games revealed in a statement that the Epic Games Store app will arrive for both iOS and Android by the end of this year.
Currently, there are no details about the app. However, it is a big move for users who are interested in discounts and free game offers from Epic Games. Epic Games will receive a 12% fee from sales made on its own mobile shop, despite the company’s public criticism of Apple and Google’s app store commissions.
This is quite less than the standard industry commission. It was subjected to some sort of criticism. One thing to notice here is that beyond the store, Epic Games provides developers with further benefits like the widely used and free Unreal Engine.
