Soon, the Samsung Bot Fit could enter production

It appears like Samsung is aiming for something really big for the wearable market. Reportedly, the company will announce its Appel Vision Pro rival before the end of this year. Furthermore, the manufacturing of the wearable robot, Bot Fit, is already being planned by the company.

In 2019, the company revealed the assistive wearable robot at several trade shows. It was previously named GEMS Hip. It is a sort of a medical device that helps to improve the motor skills of affected people. In simple words, you can refer it to as an exoskeleton type of wearable. So, from any perspective, it is not a health accessory that could measure fitness.

Until now, the product has not been introduced commercially. It seems like every year, rumors of its release fade and then resurface. Samsung purportedly rebranded GEMS Hip to Bot Fit. It is advised to take this information with a grain of salt. Some reports from Korea suggest that the company might manufacture an initial batch of less than 100,000 Bot Fit units. ETNews reports that the production will begin in mid-2024.

If we believe this information to be true, then the product development of the Bot Fit is considered to be completed last year. Perhaps the mass production will begin in the second or third quarter this year. It might arrive to the market in Q4 2024. Honestly, the initial production number is not big however, it is double the number as rumored in the past. In 2022, Korean media asserted that the company will produce 50,000 units of GEMS Hip in the initial batch.

There is no certainty about the future of this wearable robot. With the news of mass production of Galaxy Ring and Samsung’s XR headset, the rumors about Bot Fit have begun to surface again. It will be clear in the next few months whether there is any accuracy about this product entering the mass production or not.
