The second-biggest indoor mall in Canada is now home to Apple. The new Apple Square One retail location, located in Mississauga, Ontario, just west of Toronto, opened its doors on March 23 after months of construction. The store is currently situated on the second floor of the mall, across from Sephora, above the Food Central food court.
The store features a curved glass facade and spacious interior. Reportedly, the new store is bigger than the previous store in the mall. Last week, on Thursday, the original store of the company was closed after a service of almost 15 years. Notably, it is the first Apple store in Canada that offers a pickup service. To put it simply, customers can collect their online orders placed at Apple.com and Apple Store app from here.
Some of the newest features of Apple’s retail design, which debuted at the company’s redesigned Apple Tysons Corner in Virginia and all-new Apple Battersea in London, England, last year, are absent from the store. These features include an Apple Watch Studio that allows customers to customize their bands and cases, and a Genius Bar with adjustable table and seating heights for better accessibility. Consumers still have access to in-store Genius service for hardware issues and can take advantage of free creative workshops offered by the Today at Apple initiative.
The new Apple Square One is reportedly the fourth modern Apple Store in Canada. Apple Pacific Centre in Vancouver and Apple Eaton Centre in Toronto are other modern stores. Other stores across Canada feature a classic design. Apple has not publicly stated that it plans to relocate its Sainte-Catherine shop in Montréal, Québec as early as 2025, as per a leaked memo from last year. On the Apple Square One website, Apple greets users with a “come say hello.” “We can’t wait to see you there.”
