The first iPhone SE is added to the Vintage list

The iPhone SE was introduced in 2016. According to recent information shared by MacRumors, the original iPhone SE has been added to the Vintage list by the company. If a product has been out of distribution for more than five years but less than seven years, Apple classifies it as “vintage.” Apple essentially discards the product as “obsolete” after seven years.

The devices that end up on the “Vintage” list have no guarantee from either the company or the Apple Authorized Service Providers. The company doesn’t fix it; however, service providers can take care of parts without a guarantee. The repair request is denied by the company and authorized services once the device is placed on the ‘Obsolete’ list. Since the parts can’t be ordered.

Features of the first iPhone SE

The iPhone SE is based on the design of the iPhone 5s. It features a 4-inch display with an 1136 x 640 resolution. It is powered by the company’s A9 chip and comes with 2GB of RAM. It features a 12MP primary camera and packs a 1,624mAh battery. In 2020 and 2022, Apple introduced the next versions of the iPhone SE which are slightly bigger and more modern since they are based on the iPhone 8.

Currently, eight products, including the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE, are listed in the Vintage iPhone list. On the other hand, the Obsolete list contains 13 products that comprise all iPhones, beginning from the first iPhone to the iPhone 5c, which debuted in 2013.
