The Galaxy S23 series might have some heating issues

Samsung has revised its strategy for flagship smartphones for 2023. Reportedly, Samsung plans to drop the Exynos chipset for its flagship devices. It will go with the chips made by Qualcomm i.e., Snapdragon solutions. The forthcoming flagship smartphones of the company will carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The company has taken this step to deal with battery efficiency, thermal issues, and performance of the latest smartphones.

In addition to this, the Korean tech company is choosing an overclocked version of the Qualcomm chipset. Theoretically, this indicates boosted performance as compared to smartphones based on the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. But things are not in line with the future plans.

On Thursday, in a Tweet, the analyst Ice Universe contrasted the Geekbench points of the Galaxy S23 series and other smartphones based on similar overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Throughout all the devices, single-core points were steady. However, the multi-core scores were not the best for the Samsung upcoming series. The scores are quite depressing.

Given the multi-core tests, the Galaxy S23 series was unable to score more than 5,000 points. Comparatively the smartphones by Vivo and Xiaomi using the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset achieved more than 5,000 points on the Geekbench. Quite disheartening for Samsung. Although, the firmware for Galaxy S23 is still in development. These scores might be due to the software. But, still, we can’t properly figure out the possible reason for such limited performance by the latest flagship of tech giant Samsung.

According to the source, Samsung might have been considering the peak performance of the smartphone. It might have worked on fewer heat sinks on the flagship. Such a measure could have disrupted the thermal management capacities of the device. Thus, restricting the performance of the Galaxy S23 series. Well, we expect this hypothesis to be wrong. Since Samsung won’t compromise on the performance of its forthcoming flagship series. Else it would be irrelevant for the company to provide the Galaxy S23 series with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Most expectedly, the Galaxy S23 will be introduced by February 2023. Till then we have to keep an eye on the Geekbench scores and other sources in order to identify the possible chances of improvements.
