The iOS-26 update causes trouble for many users

The new iOS 26 look does not exactly provide enthusiasm for many iPhone users, but frowning. The new Liquid Glass design with depth and light effects is now criticized by users as a “optical nightmare”.

Liquid Glass design ensures dizziness

With iOS 26, Apple primarily wants to give its app icons a fresh look. The Liquid Glass Design gives the symbols a glass appearance, works with deep and parallax effects and relies on fine light reflexes in the corners. But what looked like an elegant update on stage causes irritation in everyday life for some iPhone owners – in the truest sense of the word.

In forums and social networks, reports from users are increasing who perceive the new icons as crooked or inclined. This is described as a “tilt effect”. On Reddit, a contribution to the topic collected within shortest time already several thousand votes all criticism of the Liquid Glass.

At first glance I didn’t notice it, but now I can no longer overlook the sloping app symbols. Comment at Reddit

Dark Mode is a problem

There is talk of a drunk feeling when looking at the homescreen, others describe the surface as optical chaos. The effect in the dark presentation mode seems particularly striking when the icons appear against a dark background. Colorful wallpapers can alleviate the impression, however, because they highlight the glowing edges less. According to user reports, the operating aids available in iOS such as “reduce transparency” or “reduce movement” do not bring a noticeable improvement. So far, the only hope that Apple will deliver a targeted setting with which the optical effects can be switched off or alleviated.

Experiment with the background

Until then, those affected have to improvise – or try to make the home screen look a little calmer again with another background.

Ha ha. That is really strange. It looks like they are falling over. You look wrong. Comment at Reddit
