According to a Korean publication, the Cupertino-based tech firm Apple is working on a 7-inch to 8-inch foldable device. Reportedly, the device will be a replacement for the iPad Mini. The publication claims that the company will explore the opportunities in the foldable market with the new device. According to the publication, the device could debut between 2026 and 2027.

In addition to this, the company is also working on an OLED iPad Mini. It might arrive in 2026, as per rumors. From this perspective, it is quite confusing whether the rumored device refers to a foldable iPhone or a foldable iPad. According to reports, Samsung and LG, display manufacturers, have been working with Apple. Since last year, these companies have been providing 7- and 8-inch foldable panel samples.

According to reports, Samsung is in the lead when it comes to creating these panels for Apple’s foldable gadget. Nevertheless, rumors indicate that Apple, Samsung, and LG have different opinions about important components like cover windows, hinge design, and ultra-thin glass. Thus, this might cause Apple’s foldable device’s mass manufacturing to be delayed. However, if the company goes for a 2026 launch schedule, then it must utilize the current OLED production line of Samsung that is used for iPhones.

Furthermore, rumors suggest that the company is also working on a 20.5-inch foldable device. There is no word regarding its release. There is still uncertainty about the precise design and capabilities of Apple’s initial attempt to enter the foldable gadget market.
