The iPhone 15’s A17 processor can run at 3.7GHz

The iPhone 15 is going to be a significant upgrade as compared to the iPhone 14 series. With time, we have come to know a lot about the upcoming iPhone series. Similarly, we have information regarding the chipset of the iPhone 15. It is going to be the A17 Bionic chipset.

As per the information, the A17 CPU is made using the 3nm manufacturing process. It consists of a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU. Reportedly, the speed of CPU cores is said to be 3.7GHz. At such speed, it will work as a fast processor. This attribute gives Apple the upper hand over Qualcomm, Samsung, and MediaTek. In addition to this, the chipset will feature support for 6GB of RAM.

The A17 chipset is going to be the first chipset for the iPhone made on a 3nm process. Reportedly, it will feature a 10-15% boost in performance. Besides this, the reports indicate that this chipset will reduce power consumption by up to 30%. Overall, the performance of the iPhone 15 series will be improved.

According to rumors, the iPhone 15 series will debut on September 12. The Pro models might be unveiled a few weeks later. For this reason, the iPhone 15 series will ship in October. Previously, some reports indicated that the iPhone 15 would bring some minor updates, but now it seems to bring some major updates. Given the new series, it is expected that the A17 chipset will only come with the Pro models, i.e., the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
