Some details about the new app dock and software version of the OnePlus Open

Until now, we already knew about the upcoming OnePlus Open. The smartphone will debut this week, on October 19. In the meantime, we have come across some other information about the upcoming smartphone. Recently, a tipster unveiled information regarding the software version and app dock of the OnePlus Open.

It appears that OxygenOS 13.2, based on Android 13, will come pre-installed on the OnePlus Open. For better or worse, the company will not change the name of its UI for its first foldable. However, this software version will feature some special OnePlus Open features. One of them is the app dock. It is primarily the same as found on other foldables.

The tipster has even shared an image of the dock. The image reveals that the dock has two different sections. One of the sections might feature the pinned apps, while the other section will show the apps that were recently used.

The phone’s “standout feature” will be its cameras

Though not in detail, the tipster mentioned the company’s first foldable smartphone cameras. According to the tipster, the smartphone camera will be its standout feature. However, we have some clues about the camera specifics of the OnePlus Open via some recent leaks.

Reportedly, the OnePlus Open will feature a 50MP primary shooter, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. It will also feature Hasselblad. Notably, the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Rumors suggest that the OnePlus Open will feature 1TB of storage and enough RAM.

In comparison, the OPPO Find N3 will feature ColorOS on top of Android, whereas the OnePlus Open will include OxygenOS. The two smartphones are otherwise similar. Some reports suggest that the Find N3 will be exclusive to the Chinese local market, but there is hope that it might make its international debut.
