AMD has released a number of other models in the Ryzen 5 series. Especially the Ryzen 5 5600 (without X), which is available for around 200 euros and whose six cores reach a clock speed of up to 4.4 GHz, should be of interest to many here. Our colleague from Zenchilli’s Hardware Reviews tested the new processor (German Language).
With the Ryzen 5 5600, AMD is launching a direct competitor to Intel’s Alder Lake CPUs, which have dominated the lower price segment in recent years. For just over 200 euros, the six-core (12 threads) offers a base clock of 3.5 GHz and, as mentioned, a maximum clock speed of 4.4 GHz. AMD specifies the TDP as with the 5600X with 65 watts.
There are no surprises with the Ryzen 5 5600 in benchmarks and game tests. Ultimately, the new CPU roughly matches an Intel Core i5-11400F but is beaten by the Intel Core i5-11600K. It’s also clear that if you’re currently using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, the upgrade isn’t really worth it. According to our colleague, the price of around 200 euros is also a bit too high.
