The S17 series by Vivo will be official on May 31

Smartphone company Vivo is all set to introduce the new mid-range Vivo S17 series. It is reported that the company will unveil the S17 series on May 31. It is assumed that the series will include two members i.e., the vanilla Vivo S17 and the Vivo S17 Pro.

As per a listing from the Geekbench, the Pro model of the series will be powered by Dimensity 8200 chipset. However, the vanilla model will feature the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, Geekbench listings reveal.

The new device from vivo with model number V2283A is the Vivo S17. It consists of the “Lahaina” chipset. It is actually the codename of the Snapdragon 888 series. Given this, we can assume that it is a 778G+ version. since it includes a distinct CPU combo besides a different GPU i.e., Adreno 642L. Furthermore, the data from the listing indicate that the vanilla version of the Vivo S17 series will feature 12 GB RAM. The device will come with Android 13 out of the box.

Besides this, the company has shared some details about the camera details of the Vivo S17 Pro model on its Weibo page. The shared information suggests that the device will include an LED flash. The interesting part of this LED flash is that it can be programmed to light up distinct temperatures. In addition to this, the device will include two front-facing flashes as well. The front-facing flashes will be rooted in the top bezel.

The front camera will be a 50 MP sensor. On the other hand, the portrait shooter on the rear will serve some real functions i.e., it could be used with 2x telephoto zoom. The smartphone has a super-sensing spectral sensor. Such a sensor enables improved color rendition. However, the company has not shared more details about this technology. More information will pour in since the official launch is just two days away.
