The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be unveiled by Qualcomm on October 24

Previously, we have come across several reports that indicated that Qualcomm could unveil the next-gen Snapdragon 8 chipset earlier than expected. We have some solid shreds of evidence regarding the unveiling of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm has shared that the upcoming chipset will be unveiled on October 24, 2023.

The upcoming chipset is reported to offer a significant increase in power efficiency and performance in contrast to its predecessor, well, the company is going by the narrative of releasing the new flagship SoC earlier than usual. It will announce the new SoC on October 24-26. Regarding the manufacturing of flagship SoCs, the company has granted the major order to TSMC as opposed to Samsung. Apparently, a large proportion of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be manufactured by TSMC.

As usual, the company will organize a Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii. Compared to last year, the company will organize this event a month earlier. With respect to the rumors and leaked information, it is likely that the company will introduce the chip with a new architecture i.e., 1+5+2. It will be different from the architecture used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 series i.e., 1+2+2+3. 

It is reported that the chipset will be based on 1x Cortex-X4 prime core paired with 5x Cortex-A720 cores and 2x Cortex-A520 cores. Furthermore, it will include an Adreno 750 GPU. With this configuration, it will offer improved performance. Additionally, it is proposed that the L3 cache of the CPU package will also be upgraded from 8MB to 10 MB.

In accordance with the Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 14 will be the first smartphone that will use Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip. It will be unveiled in November alongside the Vivo X100 series, iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5 which will follow a similar pattern in the upcoming months.
