This is how Cyberpunk 2077 really looks on Nintendo’s console

CD Projekt Red Hat Gameplay material from Cyberpunk 2077 released on Switch 2. The experts from Digital Foundry analyzed the video and compared the performance of the hybrid console with the PS4 and Xbox Series S – with a clear result.
Cyberpunk 2077 shows itself on the Switch 2
The Switch 2 will be released on June 5. Right to the start, there should be a variety of Nintendo games such as Mario Kart World and title from third-party providers. At a big game show in summer, the Japanese will probably announce a few more publication dates. One of the highly expected games is Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red. Now the Polish development studio has published an extensive gameplay video of its dystopian game on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The 37 -minute recording was created directly in 4K at 30 FPS in quality mode, while the console was operated in the dock. The material includes all the game aspects: fights, story sequences and journeys through Night City. Digital Foundry has subjected the video to a thorough analysis and evaluated how the upcoming Nintendo console does.

Switch vs. PS4 vs. Xbox Series S
The technical experts first find that the Switch 2 version runs significantly more stable than the original PS4 version. While heavy pop-ins and stipulators continue to appear on Sony’s last-gene console when crossing Night City, Nintendo’s new hardware is consistently more fluid. Different frame rats on 20 FPS and individual stalks can be seen on quick journeys in cars. However, if you are on foot, the game apparently keeps the 30-FPS mark, even with thick crowds.
Image quality impresses thanks to DLSS
Special praise receives the image quality on Switch 2. How digital foundry in his analysis Eurogamer emphasizes, the DLSS-upscaling on the Nvidia T239 chip plays a crucial role here. Despite sometimes low internal resolutions, a clean picture is achieved. While the goal is in dock mode 1080p, the game works in demanding scenes with internal resolutions of 720p or 792p. DLSS usually reconstructs a coherent picture with little flickering and good sharpness, especially with static motifs. For comparison: the Xbox Series S Rendert between 1296p and 1440p with FSR 2, while the PlayStation 4 only reaches 720p to 900p with its own TAA solution.
The Switch 2 is partly above the PS4 and, thanks to DLSS, sometimes achieves even better image stability than the Series S, although the internal resolution is lower. According to the technology experts, problems arise, especially when moving quickly. Block artifacts when driving and screentearing are visible for background details. Cyberpunk 2077 can also be seen on the Switch 2 with the graphic details. Texture quality, screen space reflections and motion blur are largely identical to the versions for PS4 and Xbox Series S. Differences are available from the Ambient Occlusion, which is stronger on the Switch 2, and in the missing LENS-Flare S. indoors, DLSS is particularly evident in image quality.
Launch title with cross progression
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on June 5 as the Ultimate Edition for the launch of Switch 2. This version contains both the main game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. As CD Project Red recently confirmed, the Switch 2 version will support complete cross progression with other platforms. Players can therefore transmit their scores between different systems.
The physical version is delivered on a 64 GB game card. With a price of 70 euros, the title is in the upper price segment of the Switch 2 games. Overall, the material shown at Digital Foundry leaves a positive impression of the Switch 2 version. It looks more stable than the PS4, comes close to the Series S and benefits significantly from DLSS. For a third party title of this complexity on a mobile platform, this is a solid performance that indicates a well thought-out optimization.
