Threads by Instagram is now finally available across Europe

Threads, a text-based social media platform, was launched by Instagram back in July. This platform was said to have been launched as a rival for Twitter. At the time of lunch, Meta had made this platform available in almost 100 countries, along with the US and UK. However, European Union countries weren’t on the list initially. However, it is altered today.

In a recent announcement from Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, threads are now available in Europe. This expansion has made the platform available to 448 people in the region. Along with that, Meta will allow users to scroll through the platform without an account. However, to post anything, you need to create an account first.

It took a while for Meta to bring Threads to Europe

Christine Pai, a senior communication manager at Instagram, suggested that the company will be unable to launch threads in Europe with other countries due to the restrictions of the Digital Market Act (DMA). Following this, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced the delay of launching threads in Europe, stating that the complexities of the law would move the launch to next year.

As of now, threads are finally available in Europe, providing an alternative platform for those who don’t want to be on X. Although there are many features still missing on the platform as compared to X,. However, Meta is constantly updating and adding the latest features to the platform. You can download the app for both Android and iOS from the App Store or Play Store. Along with that, you can also use Threads on the web.
