Threads receive keyword search support

According to some fresh pieces of information, a new feature is all set to be released for Threads. Reportedly, Threads will receive the new keyword search feature that will enable users to find posts with text. Users can make use of single keywords, long phrases, or hashtags to find posts on the platform. Notably, the keyword search feature was the most requested one since the app’s arrival in early July.

In competition with X (Twitter), Meta debuted Threads. The newly introduced platform is integrated with Instagram. The company saw huge success for Threads within the first week of the app’s launch, with another 100 million users joining the new platform. However, the platform lacked the basic features that caused users to flock away from Threads.

Meta is putting in all its efforts to improve the user experience on Threads. Last month, the company debuted a web version of the platform. In addition to this, the platform received a reposting feature in August. Last week, the platform received a search function. Do note that the original version of the app didn’t allow users to search posts instead users could only view profiles and follow others.

As per the recent announcement by Mark Zuckerberg, the new keyword search feature is rolling out to “most English and Spanish-speaking countries.” Subsequently, it will be rolled out in other regions where the above-mentioned languages are spoken, announced Instagram head Adam Mosseri via his channel.

The new feature is rolling out in several countries

The keyword search feature is currently rolling out to users in, India, Mexico, and the US. The feature will be available on both mobile devices and the web version. Since last week, the company has been testing the new feature with a handful of users in Australia and New Zealand. It means that these users will soon receive the new feature. In addition to this, users still can’t filter the search results. However, it is expected to change soon.
