Three FritzBox models receive new laboratory update

A new firmware update for the DSL routers FritzBox 7590 (AX) and FritzBox 7530 is available for download in the AVM laboratory. This removes bugs from FritzOS 7.90, for example in connection with mesh repeaters, guest access, radio utilization and service emails.

Fine-tuning for FritzBox 7590 (AX) & 7530

Slowly but surely, the Berlin IT company AVM is putting the finishing touches on things, so that a final FritzOS 7.90 should not be long in coming. This is evident from the manageable patch notes (see below) of the new laboratory update, which is now available for the three models FritzBox 7590, 7590 AX and FritzBox 7530. AVM is only addressing minor errors, such as a correction in the display of the radio channel utilization, incorrect links on the user interface, bugs in the assignment of individual names for mesh repeaters or a fix for the incorrect display of used up online time. In addition, the usual stability improvements should have been made in the background. New FritzOS 7.90 laboratory on July 17, 2024:

  • FRITZ!Box 7590 AX – Version: 7.90-114571
  • FRITZ!Box 7590 – Version: 7.90-114568
  • FRITZ!Box 7530 – Version: 7.90-114569

How to get the update: The easiest way to update your FritzBox is directly via the browser interface (fritz.box). Alternatively, you can download the update from the AVM website and install the firmware manually via the settings. We recommend creating a backup beforehand, as laboratory versions can also be prone to errors. In the next few weeks (or months), FritzOS 7.90 is expected to be available for the average consumer with new features for the online monitor, support for the transmission of IPv6 data via Wireguard VPN tunnels, a new mesh overview and other improvements. Until then, FritzBox owners can put the beta firmware through its paces in the laboratory.
