Tim Cook Announces ‘AWE Dropping’ Apple Event on Sept 9, iPhone 17 Likely Headline

Apple boss Tim Cook officially did it: the big iPhone event will take place in early September. In all likelihood, the iPhone 17 is presented together with the other new Apple smartphones.

iPhone 17 launch on September 9, 2025 announced

After the usual months of speculation, Apple boss Tim Cook has now given the official starting signal for this year’s iPhone launch season. Of course, he still does not mention the new iPhone 17, but what else could the event be about. The iPhone 17 series is almost certainly presented. Like cook announced about his social media channels should be an “AWE dropping” event. The Apple boss uses a word game from the usual phrase “Jaw Dropping”, ie “stunning” or “breathtaking”, and “AWE”, the English word for “reverence”.

Live transmission via YouTube and Apple website

As an appointment for the Apple event, Cook mentions September 9, 2025, where the event is to begin at 10 a.m. In this country, the event takes place at 7 p.m. German time. As usual, the event will then be transferred again via the Apple website and the Group’s YouTube channel by streaming. At Apple’s upcoming event, we are expected to see a fundamental re-design of the company’s smartphone series for the first time in years.

Various leaks, also from case manufacturers, indicate that only the basic model will still come with the classic look, while all other models are given a large camera module that reaches over the entire back. In addition to the iPhone 17, Apple will probably also introduce a particularly thin new model, which may be called iPhone 17 “Air”. In addition, there are also the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, at least if you can believe the various reports in advance.
