To summarize your messages, Android Auto will use Google Assistant

Android Auto alerts you to messages while you’re driving and even reads them aloud. A few messages here and there are fine, but when you keep getting group messages, it becomes bothersome. You might find the read-aloud feature annoying and distracting, which would take your attention away from driving. Fortunately, it appears that Google is aware of the issue, and Android Auto may soon receive an update to address it.

The folks at 9To5Google noticed that Android Auto will use Google Assistant to summarize your texts in an APK Insight article. The setup process for Android Auto will include a warning notice that reads, “These summaries will be generated by artificial intelligence, so it’s possible there could be mistakes.” This is because Android Auto will be employing AI to summarize the messages.

The Android Auto software version 14.52 contained the coding for this forthcoming functionality

Users of Android Auto will always have the choice to disable this capability from the Android Auto Settings menu, thanks to Google. The Android app v14.52 had strings of codes indicating the new Android Auto Google Assistant AI feature to summarize communications. The Android Auto software is currently in testing, so it’s unclear when this feature will be available.

You can choose to summarize messages in several other Google apps. The closest analogy to this new, future Android Auto capability, according to 9To5Google, is Google Chat’s capacity to rehash Spaces to assist you in keeping up with a group chat.
