Turn off Adaptive Color Tone to adjust Galaxy S24’s display vividness

It took some time for the initial software update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra to become available, but on January 23, Samsung released the upgrade in several international locations. The initial Galaxy S24 update brings with it several camera enhancements as well as the ability for users to customize the display’s brightness. Samsung adjusted the displays of the Galaxy S24 series to reproduce colors more naturally, but this may have had the unintended consequence of making both the vibrant and natural display settings appear equally lifeless.

After the update is installed, you will see a new level of vividness if you go to the display settings, choose Screen mode, choose Vivid, and press the advanced settings option. But what if there is no advanced settings option in there?

Don’t worry, that’s not a bug. It only means that the Adaptive Color Tone feature is enabled in the display settings. Adaptive Color Tone uses the rear and front cameras to detect ambient lighting conditions to make colors appear more you guessed it natural, which is why the phone doesn’t allow you to mess with the screen mode when Adaptive Color Tone is enabled.

Galaxy S24 display vividness feature

Therefore, you will need to disable Adaptive Color Tone from the phone’s Settings » Display menu before you can change the vibrancy of your Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra display. After you’ve done that, you’ll be able to access the Vivid screen mode’s advanced settings menu, where you can tinker with the white balance using the RGB sliders and alter the screen’s overall vividness. To change the vibrancy of the Galaxy S24’s display, turn off Adaptive Color Tone.
