Twitter is offering free verification to top 10,000 organizations and 500 advertisers

As Twitter recently announced the cancellation of all blue tick holders, including the legacy ones, These topics have been the center of attention since this announcement was made. However, it seems like the company has reconsidered its latest policy, and with another announcement, it has announced free verifications for the top 500 advertisers, along with 10,000 other top organizations.

This chaos arose with the company’s announcement of cancelling the legacy verifications and switching it up with the latest plan of Twitter verification for organizations. With this latest program, the companies have to pay $1000 per month in order to maintain their blue-tick legacy. This program tends to charge these companies for this verification along with a separate $50 fee for any other account associated with the main account.

As per the announcement from Twitter,  all the verified and affiliated accounts are observed, including the companies like sports organizations, news organizations, financial firms, Fortune 500 companies, and nonprofits that join verified organizations. They further added that, starting today, verified accounts will be available on a global level. All the organizations on the waitlist will receive the invitation.

Improving the platform’s relations with advertisers

This latest step taken by the platform will prove beneficial in terms of repairing relations with advertisers. Since Elon Musk has taken over, the company’s revenue has faced a significant decline, along with many advertisers leaving the platform. Charging a fee of $1,000 per month would be trouble if the verification process weren’t asked to be free.

On the other hand, for small businesses and home-based organisations that are striving to get verified with the blue tick, this amount is quite a lot to pay.

In a reaction to this, many organizations and small business owners have criticized this decision. William LeGate, co-founder of Pillow Fight, has criticized the charge, calling it meaningless and outlandish, as this verification isn’t beneficial in terms of post-engagement and Boost.
