Twitter may add a much-needed ‘edit tweet feature’
The chief executive of Twitter said that we are considering to introduce an ‘edit button’ which allows Twitter users to make their errors in tweets correct.
During an event in New Delhi, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Twitter—Jack Dorsey told the attendees that the social media platform is considering to add edit the tweet facility, primarily to fix typos. Dorsey further said that the edit tweet functionality would only be implemented if it can be done in the right way.

“You have to pay your attention to what are the use cases for the edit button. A lot of the Twitter users want an edit functionality because they want to quickly fix a mistake they made while tweeting,” Dorsey said.
“That is a lot more achievable than allowing the Twitter users to edit any tweet all the way back in time,” he added.
“Our company is considering to add an edit button for a while and we have to implement this feature in the right way. We cannot just rush it out. We cannot make something which is distracting or takes anything away from the public record,” he said.
However, other social media platforms such as; Facebook and Instagram allow its users to edit their post in every way. But, Twitter has never allowed its users to edit any tweet since its creation in 2006.
