Uber app rides now have snapchat

Uber app has done some amazing things at the end of this year. Users can hail a ride directly for people in their contact list. Along with this is the new Snpachat team up where the customers can openly access custom filters during Uber rides.

The location feature in the app lets users request their one time static location share from their contacts. The app then automatically sets that as your destination and sets the route for your designated driver. The trade off here is the access of Uber app to your book. However, if you’re used the fare splitting feature or referred Uber to a friend through referral code then Uber app already has access to the book. The new direct-location routing will share the trip ETA with the person you’re travelling as well. Users who have used the ETA sharing feature know what the feature looks like and the person you’re travelling to meet will get an estimated time of arrival. They will also receive a link to the live updating map as well.

Uber app has new integration for consumer engagement

This is super easy and convenient for people who are new to a place. It also avoids the hectic rigmarole in trying to find your friend in a place that is not easy to locate. Uber through this update is one inch closer to becoming the system level service for your phone.

Uber new Snapchat filters allow for custom filters on rides. These rides have their own filters, the one you see from attending events or specific locations. The filters include ETA and other options which are accessible through a Snap card. The snap card shows up on Uber’s new in-app feed. This is a great example of what Uber could do with its consumer facing app’s platform potential. The company has also recently been involved with Disney in a promotion partnership. The new Rogue One Star Wars film is an example of this potential. Snapchat integration provides the company to highlight UberEATS in the market where the service is available. This is a natural fit in mining for new resources for the future of the app service partnerships.
