Unofficial details about the battery of Vision Pro headset
The specs of the Vision Pro headset were unveiled by Apple when the device was opened for pre-orders. According to the details, Vision Pro can offer 2 hours of general use and 30 minutes of video playback. Besides this, the company didn’t share details about the battery capacity of the headset. Recently, information regarding the battery capacity was unveiled by Aaron Perris from MacRumors.
The battery of the Vision Pro was revealed by Aaron on X (formerly Twitter). Reportedly, the battery carried the model number A2781. It offers a capacity of 35.9 watt-hours (Wh) and a maximum output of 13 volts (V). Mathematically, it is 2,761 milliampere-hour (mAh). Aaron claims in the post, though, that the battery has a 3,166mAh capacity. Therefore, it appears that the post contains an error with the Wh, mAh, or V values.
The battery of the Vision Pro is three times bigger than that of the iPhone 15 Pro
Well, it appears that the battery of the Vision Pro is quite small compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro has a battery capacity of 3,274mAh. But it is not true given the fact that the iPhone 15 Pro’s battery is rated at around 3.8V and the Vision Pro’s battery is rated at 13V. This indicates that the Vision Pro’s battery has a capacity of 9,447mAh (35.9/3.8×1,000) at the voltage at which the battery of the iPhone 15 Pro is rated. Let’s put it this way: the Vision Pro’s battery holds nearly three times as much as the iPhone 15 Pro’s, or you could say that the Vision Pro is the same size as a 10,000mAh power bank.
Vision Pro will be available for sale in the US tomorrow
The headset will be available for sale in the US from tomorrow onwards. However, because the initial demand for the headset was significantly higher than Apple had anticipated, delivery of the headset is backordered until March. Fortunately, Apple intends to release a large library of 3D movies and spatial games for the headset at launch, so there won’t be a lack of content when the Vision Pro goes on sale.
