Update finally brings Dirigera Hub Matter support

The Swedish furniture store has been trying for years to expand its range of affordable smart home devices. Now a long-awaited update for the Dirigera Hub is finally here, which simplifies the connection of all devices to the network. Ikea

New firmware brings support for Matter

With the Dirigera Hub, different smart home products from IKEA such as the Tretakt wireless socket or the Badring water leak sensor can be controlled and partially connected to each other. As the blue and yellow furniture giant now announces via its international Newsroom announced that a new update for the hub is now available. With the new software, the control device finally receives an additional function that had already been tested in a beta version since March. The Dirigera Hub now supports the industry standard Matter.

This turns IKEA’s small box into a fully-fledged Matter Bridge, through which all smart home devices can communicate with each other, even if they do not support the standard themselves. This also includes the Swedish furniture store’s lamps, shutters and air filters, which are based on Zigbee.

Integration of several products possible

From now on, almost all IKEA smart home products can be integrated into a Matter network without any problems. Owners no longer need to worry about any compatibility issues. According to the official Change log of the Dirigera firmware, products from the following categories benefit from the new functionality:

• lighting
• Smart plugs/sockets
• Connected blinds
• Remote controls
• Motion detector
• Opening/closing sensors
• Air purifiers and air quality sensors

Automatic update

The firmware update 2.615.8 should be automatically installed on the Dirigera Hub. Users usually do not have to take any action themselves. Only the IKEA Home smart app needs to be up to date. For Android devices, the corresponding version 1.31.0 is available in the Google Play Store On iOS devices, the application can be downloaded from the AppleAppStore can be downloaded as version 1.36.0.
