Microsoft has released a series of new updates for Windows 11. A comprehensive bug fix update with build number 22635.4005 (KB5040555) has now been launched in the beta channel of the Insider program. The new version contains only minimal changes.
This new preview version is essentially a fairly small update – although some known issues remain and are increasing. As always, not all Windows Insiders will receive the changes in the latest update in a timely manner. According to Microsoft, there is only one change – it fixed an issue that caused some Insiders to experience sporadic explorer.exe errors when using their PC in the latest flights of the Beta Channel.
The change will only be implemented gradually in the beta channel. More about the changes and the changelog at the end of the article. In the Windows Blog As usual, the team is keeping you updated on the changes. This time, however, most of the blog post is about new issues that are now being addressed. Windows manager Brandon LeBlance also posted on his X account that no updates will be released this week for members of the Dev or Canary Insider channels.
This update includes a small set of general improvements and bug fixes that improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build on their PCs:
