Update Your Smartphone: WhatsApp Soon to Limit Usage
By 2021, WhatsApp will limit usage on several devices with old iOS or Andriod operating systems. It’s time to update or upgrade.
WhatsApp is soon going to limit the usage of outdated operating systems. The Facebook-owned messaging app informed that WhatsApp would stop working for iPhones with below iOS 9 by 2021.
This news is particularly for users still using iPhone 4 and earlier models. For users owning 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6, and 6S; they will have to update to iOS 9 or later version to avoid this ban from WhatsApp.
WhatsApp doesn’t stop here; the messaging app also informed that similar action would be taken for those using old android versions. This includes android 4.03. Smartphone running on the version includes; HTC Desire, Motorola Droid Razr, Samsung Galaxy S2, etc.
The deadline for such users is January 1, 2021 – upgrade the operating system or the device!
If you are unfamiliar with the current operating system running on your device, you could follow simple steps and find the version of the operating systems:
iPhone Users: Access Settings => General => Information; here, you will find information about the version you have on your device.
Android Users: Go to Settings => About Phone (or About Device) and System Information; here, you will find the operating system version.
