After the success of vocational institutes in Punjab, a vocational training university is also to set its grounds. The step is taken between the Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and the Tianjin University of Technical Education (TUTE), China.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, (Chairperson, TEVTA) and Liu Xin (President, TUTE) were the two high authorities who signed the agreement. With the combined efforts a new institute will be established; University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE). This step is taken to strengthen the Pak-China bond and is done under the China-Pak Economic Corridor.
Students enrolling in UTVE would be provided education which could help them gain opportunities rising from CPEC. Chairperson TEVTA Irfan is also of the view that this new vocational institute would empower the Pakistani young talent.
Under the university course programs, UTVE is offering 9 courses at the initial level:
Under the agreements signed between TEVTA and TUTE, both the high authorities of the two bodies agreed to exchange their experts from time to time to train students and share their knowledge.
At the time of the agreement, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Shareef and the Minister of School and Education Rana Mashood were also seated.
