Verizon-bound Galaxy Z Fold 2 is getting new camera features

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 under the brand name Verizon in the USA is now getting a new firmware update, which includes the April 2021 security patch and some major features for the camera.

This update is labeled F916USQU1DUCE and comes with the April 2021 security patch. The update will fix some 21 issues with Samsung’s software and around 30 high-severity vulnerabilities affecting Google’s platform. The issues have already been identified and discussed by Samsung.

Moreover, this update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 also brings three major improvements to the camera – pro mode for ultrawide, new portrait backgrounds, and auto night mode.

According to the report, the ultra-wide lens is now available in Pro and Pro Video camera modes, whereas new Portrait backgrounds are also added, which includes High-Key Mono, Low-Key Mono, and Backdrop effects.

The last feature introduces automatic Night Mode, where the camera app can detect low light conditions and enable the Night Mode automatically in Photo, Portrait, and Hyperlapse camera modes.

You can get the new update OTA by opening the Settings app, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install.
