Verizon launches the Galaxy S21 One UI 6 upgrade

Samsung Galaxy S21

More Owners of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are starting to receive the One UI 6 Android 14 upgrade after it was first made available a week ago. Since then, the update has been rolled out to a number of nations, and the USA is the latest country where it is live.

For a good number of Galaxy phones that qualified, the US was surprisingly the first market to receive the stable One UI 6 upgrade; however, this wasn’t the case for the Galaxy S21 series. Verizon customers, at least, will soon be able to stop waiting for Android 13, but other carrier-locked models and unlocked devices won’t likely be stuck on Android 13 for very long.

Starting today, Verizon’s Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are receiving the One UI 6 upgrade. With a firmware version that ends in FWK5, it has the security updates from the security patch released in November 2023. Open the Settings app on your phone, choose Software Update, then hit Download and Install to start the update. To do an upgrade manually on a Windows computer, get the most recent firmware from our collection.

Numerous enhancements and new features are included with Android 14 and One UI 6, such as a redesigned Quick Panel, more watermark options for the Camera app, home screen widgets, improved photo and video editing tools, 2-hand drag and drop between apps, improved notification sorting options, and much more that you can learn about in our comprehensive One UI 6 guide.
