Vivo V23 and V23 Pro Comes In Chameleon Design
Vivo presented the V23 and V23 Pro at CES 2022. The new mid-range smartphones are primarily characterized by their changeable color and their dual selfie camera. In this post, we introduce the Vivo V23 and V23 Pro. Since Vivo has been present in Europe, it has repeatedly attracted attention with innovative smartphones such as the X51 with its gimbal camera or, most recently, with the V21 5G, which has a remarkable selfie camera. At the beginning of the year, the Chinese brand used CES to reveal the V23 and V23 Pro. The successors to the V20 and V21 come onto the market with two special features, which concern the design and the selfie camera.
Vivo V23 and V23 Pro: smartphones that change color!
Vivo apparently took inspiration from Apple when designing the V23. At least the smartphone has flat edges like the iPhone 13. The V23 Pro, on the other hand, has a rounded design. However, the main difference between the smartphones is their color. Because in the color Sunshine Gold, the V23 and V23 Pro can change their color from gold to teal when exposed to the sun. This is possible thanks to a special coating called “Fluorite AG”, which enables smartphones to change their color tone after a certain period of time. The two cell phones are alternatively available in the color Stardust Black. The Vivo V23 and V23 Pro also have a conspicuous notch that houses two selfie cameras. It’s best to take a look at the pictures:
Vivo V23 and V23 Pro: The technical data at a glance
As already mentioned, both the Vivo V23 and the V23 Pro have dual selfie cameras. This consists of a 50 MP wide-angle sensor with dual autofocus and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a field of view of 105 degrees. With the front cameras, you can record selfie videos in 4K at 30 or 60 fps and take selfies with a bokeh effect. The dual-tone flash is also available twice. The Vivo V23 and V23 Pro are clearly targeting influencers once again. The V23 has a 6.44 inch FullHD AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 920. The SoC is supported by up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space.
The V23 also has a triple camera module on the back, consisting of a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro lens. The V23 Pro also has an AMOLED display with FullHD resolution and 90 Hertz refresh rate, but with a screen diagonal of 6.56 inches. With a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 it has a much more powerful SoC and the same camera, but with a 108 MP main sensor. In terms of battery life, the V23 has a 4200 mAh battery, while the Pro model has 4300 mAh. Both smartphones also allow quick charging with 44 watts. Both the Vivo V23 and the V23 Pro run on Android 12 with the FuntouchOS 12 overlay.
Vivo V23 and V23 Pro: availability and prices
Vivo announced at the presentation that the smartphones will be available from January 13th (Pro version) and January 19th (standard model). They will initially be distributed in Southeast Asian markets such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Both smartphones should also come to Europe “within the next few months”.
