VLC media player may be able to access free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) networks
When it comes to the famous and flexible media players, VLC is the best option. It can play a variety of multimedia files. Even the users can stream content over the network using URLs. According to some recent pieces of information, VLC could get another useful feature in the future.
According to the president of VideoLAN (the organization behind VLC) stated to Low Pass (through It’s FOSS News) that the company was considering adding “other ad-supported online media” and free, ad-supported streaming TV channels to the VLC media player. Jean-Baptiste Kempf added that the younger audience is more attracted to wards streaming. Exactly he remarked that “People, especially the younger generation, expect to stream.”
In addition to sharing the latest updates, the president shared that nothing is finalized regarding the ad-supported channels. He added that even if the company goes forward with this approach, it will be optional for users. Well, this is quite a good approach and a nice addition to the platform.
Already, it is quite a rich media player with several features. From this perspective, access to several free, ad-supported channels will make it more prominent in the market. However, we do want to see future updates that concentrate on network or local playback. We will share mode details with time. So stay tuned.
