For Android users, Wear OS 4 brings about several handy upgrades, but one of those changes is the absence of a built-in web browser. First off, that’s likely fine for most people. Because using a smartwatch screen to browse the web is most definitely not the best method to experience what the web has to offer.
Second, you can download other browser apps for the watch from the Play Store. If, for some reason, you feel like going through that, It’s interesting to note that the Pixel Watch and the Pixel Watch 2’s Wear OS 4 do include a built-in browser. It’s odd that the browser prevents you from browsing the internet. It appears that its sole purpose is to deliver links to your phone that you can click from other apps. So, in a roundabout manner, it does technically function. However, you cannot just open the browser and go to the desired website.
The browser doesn’t appear for all users, as 9To5Google notes, although the reason why is unclear. However, it is obviously there because we were able to locate it on our Pixel Watch 2. It is listed in the settings menu’s apps and notifications section under the default apps screen. You’ll see “default browser” and “Wear OS” set as the defaults in the upper right corner. Of course, you should be able to change this if you install a different browser on the watch.
Perhaps Google will decide to modify this in the future. However, for the time being, it is merely something that is. A fascinating discovery, to put it mildly. Although it would be more intriguing if you could really launch the program,
