The traditional Prestige system made its return in Call of Duty with Black Ops 6, featuring ten tiers to climb before reaching the ultimate goal: Prestige Master. This system brings players a new milestone of leveling, with a staggering 1,000 levels to grind through once you hit the highest rank. But what exactly happens when you hit Prestige Master, and what rewards await you? Let’s dive in and break it all down.
When I first set my sights on Prestige Master, I had a lot of questions. Would I need to re-unlock weapons and equipment after reaching this milestone? Would the grind from level 1 start all over again? Luckily, after finally hitting Prestige Master, I have all the answers—and they’re good ones!
To clarify: once you reach Prestige Master, all weapons, equipment, scorestreaks, and other items that were previously locked behind level requirements will stay permanently unlocked. That means no more resetting your progress or having to re-unlock everything by climbing back to level 55. The grind for gear is officially over at this point!
There is one small caveat: while all the core items are unlocked for good, anything tied to weapon levels—such as optics or attachments—will still require earning XP to unlock. For example, in my case, I still had to grind for optics on marksman rifles that I rarely used. However, the main bulk of your builds and equipment will remain available, making life much easier as you continue your climb.
Reaching Prestige Master is all about leveling up—a lot. Here’s how the system works:
The moment you hit Prestige Master, you’ll unlock the Sitting Bull Reborn operator skin for Marshall. This is an instant reward to celebrate your milestone.
From level 60 to 90, you’ll receive rewards every 10 levels. The standout prize? A sleek weapon blueprint unlocked at Prestige Master level 90.
Once you cross level 100, the rewards shift to emblems, including a selection of legacy emblems from previous Call of Duty games. These nostalgic touches are perfect for long-time fans of the series.
If you make it all the way to level 1,000, you’ll unlock the redacted page as seen here. This includes the Samuels operator from Black Ops 2, the Enigma Tech blueprint for the PP-919, and some exclusive cosmetic items.
Reaching Prestige Master is a serious grind, and it won’t happen overnight. Here are a few tips to make the journey a bit smoother:
Reaching Prestige Master in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is no small feat, but the rewards make the grind worthwhile. From permanent unlocks to exclusive cosmetic items, the system ensures you’re constantly rewarded for your progress. If you’re still climbing the ranks, my advice is to stay patient, leverage XP events, and enjoy the journey.
If you’re ready to take on the challenge, good luck—you’ve got a heck of a grind ahead, but it’s all worth it in the end!
