WhatsApp enables the option to “pin” a particular message within a chat

Users on WhatsApp can pin chats at the top of the list. It gives easy access to important chats. However, it was impossible to pin a specific message inside a chat. Previously, it was rumored that this feature would soon be available on WhatsApp. Well, the feature is now rolling out to WhatsApp.

Well, this is quite interesting since users could easily pin specific messages in a chat. The pinned message will be displayed at the top of the chat. It will be a great reminder for important stuff like addresses, phone numbers, appointments, and related stuff. The pinned messages can remain pinned for different lengths of time and have three options, including the 24-hour timeframe, 7 days, and one month. The seven-day time frame is the default option.

You must be considering how to pin a message in a chat. Well, it is quite simple. Just long-press the message you wish to pin and select the option Pin from the context menu. Select the preferred time frame from the list and your message will be pinned. Do note that all messages can be pinned, be they an emoji or an image. Furthermore, when you pin something, end-to-end encryption, or E2EE, is maintained.

The feature can be reserved only for admins in a group chat, where they can also opt to grant admin approval on who can pin a message in chat. The feature is currently rolling out on a mass scale. It might take a few days for the feature to arrive in the app. Just ensure that your app is updated to the latest version to use the new features.
